Agency: Russian airlines’ passenger traffic triples in June
MOSCOW, Jul 13 (PRIME) -- The combined passenger traffic of Russian airlines tripled on the month but fell 77.5% on the year to 2.84 million people in June, the Federal Air Transport Agency said on Monday citing operating data.
The passenger traffic of national flagship carrier Aeroflot fell by 84% on the year to 523,000 people in June, of its subsidiary Rossiya Airlines by 85% to 199,000 people, of UTair by 73% to 201,000 people, and of Ural Airlines by 82% to 170,000 people. The traffic of Aeroflot’s low-cost subsidiary Pobeda went down 52% on the year to 439,000 people.
S7 Airlines transported 678,000 people in the month, down only 49% on the year.
The passenger transportation decreased by 82.4% to 5.45 billion passenger-kilometers.
In January–June, the combined passenger traffic of Russian airlines decreased by 52% to 27.8 million people.
